Since 2015 Wayne Estes has served as president and general manager of Sebring International Raceway. He previously held a similar role at Bristol Motor Speedway as Vice President of Events for more than 17 years. Raised near Atlanta, Ga., Estes grew up a fan of motorsports and continues to exude passion for the history of the sport and lead with an eye toward serving race fans with exceptional customer service. In fact, three races that Estes looked most favorably upon as a child were the Indianapolis 500, the Pike’s Peak Hill Climb and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. Therefore, managing the facility at Sebring was almost a natural evolution for the veteran motorsports manager. He served in motorsports management and public relations roles with Campbell Marketing & Communications where he handled the Ford Motor Company’s motorsports accounts for NASCAR, and he also worked for Coca-Cola USA in Atlanta, and coincidentally worked on Coca-Cola’s then-primary sponsorship of the 12 Hours of Sebring. Earlier, after graduating from Georgia Southern University with degrees in English, journalism and philosophy, his career started as a sportswriter and copy editor at the Savannah News-Press. |
