John Story
Senior Director
Marketing, Business Development and Communications
Sebring International Raceway

John Story’s role at Sebring covers a diverse set of objectives that rely on his more than 30 years of experience in sports and entertainment management. In addition to leading advertising, sales, promotions, media relations, marketing and sponsor relations, Story is involved with most aspects of Sebring’s operation and the Raceway’s ongoing objective to be the most fan friendly and welcoming racetrack in the world. His motorsports career began in 1995 as the director of public relations at Daytona International Speedway and later included roles at Homestead-Miami Speedway, general manager of both Robby Gordon Motorsports and Dale Earnhardt Inc., and owner and manager of Revolution Racing – NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program – and several other NASCAR teams.

While earning his journalism degree from the University of Central Florida, he worked as a full-time clerk, editor and writer at The Orlando Sentinel, followed by several years at The PGA of America which was his first public relations position. Following graduation, he became a publicist for Walt Disney World, managing publicity for all sports-related activities including the world-famous “What’s Next Campaign” and the Walt Disney World Golf Resort. Working with Jeff Gordon following his historic win in the inaugural Brickyard 400, who then proclaimed: “I’m Going to Disney World,” was the start of Story’s motorsports career.

In the middle of this racing career, he returned to the golf business as the communications director for World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman and his various companies. Having attended thousands of motorsports events at most major racetracks in the United States and many other sports facilities, Story has been focused on Sebring International Raceway and IMSA since 2018.
